Character Ophelia

The inspiration for the character Ophelia comes from the play hamlet, as I have explained in my previous blog post how Ophelia was treated and how she gets to the place where she drowns and society changes it to a beaophelia-1446662398.jpgutiful death, this is the ultimate style model for our character Ophelia.

Ophelia drowns in a river surrounded by flowers and nature the heaviness of her dress drags her under as the branch from the tree snapped and she accidently fell in – the story made up to conceal Ophelia’s death. the reality is quite different. Ophelia tumbled down in her mental state into a place where she could no longer go on and committed suicide by drowning in a river where she suffered. in Shakespearian times suicide was unthought-of and should never be committed, as Ophelia was royalty it was expected that she had to have a funeral however in those times if you committed suicide you wasn’t allowed to have a funeral.

Aurora thinks upon Ophelia’s death as beautiful to try and stop the hurtful thoughts, she romanticizes it into something beautiful to cope, spiralling herself into the dark place Ophelia was when she died. Ophelia characters is based solely on how Aurora viewed her, in the flashbacks she has no imperfections at the start but as the film progresses we can see how drained Ophelia really is.

Actress – EleanorIMG_9595.JPG

Reasons – Eleanor is an extremely reliable person, she also fits well with an idealic theme due to her long blonde hair, I asked Eleanor to play in the first draft of my AS production however this didn’t go as well as planned but from the footage I acquired there I know that Eleanor is the perfect person to play Ophelia in our film as her portrayal from before fits this role well.
