Feedback- audience review

IMG_4674[1]img_467311.png

the majority of the feedback was positive and encouraging and criticism was constructive, due to the small sample size we had available to ask for audience feedback, some of the responses were a little vague, to further there response I went and asked them some more points verbally which are not written on the Edward de bono sheet.

below I have added in some of the quotes from the sheet, and my reflection on them.

Interesting point

the use of sepia, and the tension sound

Interesting point

gripping storyline drives a relevant important point

Interesting point

amazing story and surreal

Plus point

looks professional, amazingly editing sound (non-diegtic). match edit done really well

Minus point

ringing is too loud it doesn’t fit the paintbrush scene

one of the comments made was that the ringing sound was too loud and didn’t fit the paintbrush scene, to combat this I have moved the high pitched sound down but I didn’t want to remove it entirely, as the confusing sounds combats the serenity of the long shot, as a producer of the film I wanted to show that peoples darkest moments can be in the most peaceful scene, and sound is a way of signifying this.

Minus Point

sound can be fuzzy, the storyline was confusing regarding the suicide and why she was at her funeral

the sound they are referring to is the same as before, which I have gone in and fixed to make it easier to hear and up the audience pleasure. The storyline I agree can be confusing with what’s happening and why she is at certain locations, the film is purposely made to be confusing, I want my audience to walk away feeling confused and shocked, not understand why she wanted to commit suicide, sometimes the reasons for someone who feels suicidal isn’t always clear, these things aren’t black and white. The short film I have created has mainly tonal edits with signifiers  showing what’s going on inside her head. although this was wrote down as a minus point to me it reassures that the point I was trying to make is coming off.
