Opening scene – Lavender Field

our opening scene will hopefully look something similar to this…

 

As you can see our opening scene will feature a title card, to correct one of the things within here is that is says we will use a steadicam however due to the expensive nature of a steadicam we will use a gimbal which has the same effect.

The idea of a lavender field comes from a band trailer called “………………” within this trailer it explores the band but it also shows a slightly blurred shot of a lavender/corn field. This shot has inspired the way we want to have our opening shot as we liked the contrast between the heavy guitar and the soft side of nature, we ourselves want to bring a contrast similar to this into our work with the soft nature of a lavender field and a black feather.

Originally we were going to have a white feather inspired by Forrest Gump however to create the contrast from the band trailer we have decided to use a black feather as it shows the contrast between what we perceive as evil and what we perceive as pure. The idea of the black feather trailing through a lavender field shows how the evil within Aurora has disrupted the nature and pureness within dreaming Aurora.

Apparently not to many lavender fields are around in Yorkshire and the only one we have managed to find is a lavender field in York. Where hopefully they will allow us to film.

As a mock up of what our title would look like I have created a title card to see how all these styles would come together.

I have contacted them but they have yet to reply so I shall keep that updated.
